The world’s top experts in Artificial Intelligence for the built environment gathered in Helsinki. Vetter Communications served as the official PR partner for the AIAEC 2025 conference. The event was attended by over 300 experts from a total of 32 countries.
“Vetter Communications has provided significant value in achieving media awareness both domestically and increasingly on the international stage,” says Vesa Järvinen, Chairman of the program committee and EVP at A-Insinöörit.
The world’s first international Artificial Intelligence event for the built environment AIAEC was held for the fifth time in Helsinki on March 19-20, 2025. The event brought together influencers in construction technologies and architecture from around the world. More than 300 industry professionals from a total of 32 countries registered for the event. Speakers came from over 20 countries.
“If artificial intelligence seems cold and distant to some, it certainly wasn’t for the representatives of over 30 nationalities who participated in the annual AI in AEC 2025 conference,” summarizes Vesa Järvinen, Chairman of the programme committee and EVP at AINS Group / A-Insinöörit.
“The enthusiasm of the participants was palpable, and a strong sense of community warmed the atmosphere. The event has continued to grow, breaking the 300-participant mark this year. The conference has established itself as the world’s leading AI event in construction.”
Vetter Communications has now served as the official PR partner for the event for two consecutive years, being responsible for public relations and media communications, and also supporting event marketing. Järvinen describes the collaboration as follows:
“Having been involved in building this conference from scratch, I am proud of what we have achieved together for the industry and for Finland’s international image alike. In this work, Vetter Communications has provided significant value in achieving media awareness both domestically and also increasingly on the international stage. A brand is never created overnight. Building brand visibility requires persistent and systematic work, and the success already achieved energizes us to continue our journey together.”
The event was organized by the Finnish Association of Civil Engineers, RIL. The organization develops operational models for the built environment sector by strengthening the expertise of industry professionals and organizing events, among other things. “Through this event, we make Finnish expertise visible worldwide and also bring international experts to Finland,” says Ville Raasakka, Director of international events and education at RIL.
The 2025 AI in AEC event was supported by the Association of Finnish Architects’ Offices ATL, the International Council for Research and Innovation in Building and Construction CIB, the Confederation of Finnish Construction Industries RT, and the Finnish Association of Architects SAFA. Partners included A-Insinöörit, FAIR, KIRAHub and Sweco. The content partner was AEC Business and PR Partner Vetter Communications.
AIAEC stands for Artificial Intelligence in Architecture, Engineering, and Construction.
AI agents the “hottest trend” in the construction industry
“What is the hottest trend in the industry right now? It is clearly the arrival of AI agents on the scene,” says Järvinen. According to Järvinen, in the near future, agents will no longer just support experts – they will practically be colleagues with diverse special expertise.
“Last year, nobody really knew about them yet, but this spring they are already strongly present. AI agents perform tasks independently and interact with their environment. They learn and adapt. We are moving from the use of narrow AI applications towards more comprehensive and autonomous operations. Perhaps the future is not as far away as we think.”
